Every year, the church would hold its annual church retreat. This year we had it in the lush mountain-side camp in Sai Kung. Here are the highlights!
Starting of the weekend, the disciples went hiking around the nearby mountains, explored the vicinity and the district of Sai Kung.
The Saturday night started off with an incredible barbecue in one of the forest bbq pits. The brothers and sisters enjoyed the feast and to top it all off. Our brother Solomon, future Brisbane Mission Team Leader would preach a fiery sermon in being close to God which required faith. He broke down Hebrews 11 and was definitively his best sermon to date!
The next day, we started off our Sunday with a powerful service. An opening welcome by our brother Jeff, a vulnerable communion by our sister Zike (who also shared communion in our last retreat). Finally, we had Matthew who shared his heart about his trip to Sydney and calling the church to simply be close to God.
Our retreat ended with a bang! With the capturing of a family photo at the tallest spot of the retreat venue, many left the retreat looking forward to next year’s retreat with even great news and dreams for God.
